Compress Image

Make JPG, PNG and WebP photos smaller. Pick a quality or a target size such as 200 KB. Your images never leave your browser.

Add your images

Drag & drop JPG, PNG or WebP files here, or choose them from your device. Up to 30 images.

1. How small?

75%

75% is a good balance. Lower means smaller files.

2. Maximum size

The longer side is reduced to this. Smaller dimensions give much smaller files.

3. Format

Automatic keeps JPG as JPG and WebP as WebP. PNG becomes JPG, or WebP if it has a transparent background.

🔒

Private

Images are compressed in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, and location data (GPS) in photos is removed.

⚡

Many at Once

Compress up to 30 images together and download them one by one or as a single ZIP file.

How to compress an image

  1. Add one or more JPG, PNG or WebP images.
  2. Choose a quality, or switch to "Target size" and enter a limit such as 200 KB.
  3. If you want, reduce the maximum size and choose an output format.
  4. Download each image, or all of them as a ZIP file.

How do I reduce a photo to under 200 KB?

Choose "Target size", pick 200 KB and add your photo. The tool lowers the quality step by step and, if needed, the dimensions, until the file fits.

Will my photo lose quality?

JPG and WebP compression removes details that are hard to see. At 70–80% quality most photos look the same on screen. Very small targets can make photos look soft.

Why did my PNG become a JPG?

PNG is a lossless format, so it cannot get much smaller. Saving it as JPG (or WebP when it has a transparent background) usually makes it many times smaller. Choose PNG under Format if you need to keep it.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Everything happens on your device, so the tool also works with private photos and ID documents.

Which formats are supported?

JPG, JPEG, PNG and WebP. iPhone HEIC photos must be converted to JPG first.
