What is a HEIC file?
HEIC (or HEIF) is the photo format iPhones and iPads use by default. It saves space, but many Windows computers, websites and forms cannot open it.
Will my photos lose quality?
At the default 92% JPG quality the difference is not visible. Choose PNG if you need a lossless copy; PNG files are much larger.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. The conversion runs in your browser, so your photos stay on your device.
How can I stop my iPhone from saving HEIC?
On your iPhone go to Settings › Camera › Formats and choose "Most Compatible". New photos are then saved as JPG.
Why is the conversion slow?
HEIC photos are decoded on your own device. Large photos can take a few seconds each, especially on older phones.
